12-year-old boy from Amritsar
The survivor’s journey, before and after surgery.
12-year-old boy lived with post-burn contracture pulling his left little finger tight against his palm.
Before surgery
Fixed little finger flexion tethering. Burn scars that tighten across the fingers and palm make it hard to grip, write or work.
The surgery
The surgery was done at Amandeep Hospital in Amritsar, a BHF partner hospital. BHF funded it in full, at no cost to the family.
After surgery
Full extension and grip function.

Medical photo, before surgeryFully funded by BHF, at no cost to the family.
