22-year-old woman lived with right axilla and elbow contractures that prevented daily arm reach and self-care.
Before surgery
Axillary and elbow tethering. Scar bands across the elbow or armpit stop the arm from straightening or lifting fully.
The surgery
The surgery was done at Soni Burn Hospital in Hisar, a BHF partner hospital. BHF funded it in full, at no cost to the family.
