11-year-old girl lived with burn scarring that locked her left thumb tight to her hand, destroying pinch grasp.
Before surgery
Rigid left thumb adduction. Burn scars that tighten across the fingers and palm make it hard to grip, write or work.
The surgery
The surgery was done at Soni Hospital in Panipat, a BHF partner hospital. BHF funded it in full, at no cost to the family.
After surgery
Restored full thumb abduction.
