The survivor’s journey, before and after surgery.
12-year-old boy lived with extensive multi-site contractures locking all 4 eyelids in ectropion and tethering his neck and axilla.
Before surgery
4-lid ectropion and neck scar. Scars that tighten across the face and neck pull at the skin and limit everyday movement.
The surgery
The surgery was done at GS Memorial Hospital in Varanasi, a BHF partner hospital. BHF funded it in full, at no cost to the family.
After surgery
Complete eyelid and neck mobility.
