32-year-old woman lived with a left elbow burn contracture pinning her arm in tight flexion, preventing daily labor.
Before surgery
Left elbow flexion tethering. Scar bands across the elbow or armpit stop the arm from straightening or lifting fully.
The surgery
The surgery was done at GS Memorial Hospital in Varanasi, a BHF partner hospital. BHF funded it in full, at no cost to the family.
